Proposal of the Month: December
The Proposal (as told by Jimmie): “It was the weekend of Raven’s Birthday. I knew I had a great weekend planned for her full of pampering and surprises, which I knew she would love. Friday morning started off with me treating her to a manicure and pedicure. We followed that up by going to see the movie ‘Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.’ Later on that evening, we met up with a group of her friends for dinner in DC. No birthday evening would be complete without dancing (Raven’s favorite pastime), so we finished the night off at one of Raven’s favorite lounges.
On Saturday (her actual birthday), I told her that she needed to pack a bag because we were going on an overnight trip. She continually tried to figure out where we were going. Every time we turned on the highway, she tried to guess the location. Finally, we pulled up to Lansdowne Resort and she still had no clue where we were or what was happening. Once we checked-in, I walked her to the Resort Spa where I’d pre-scheduled a few Spa treatments for her. She was overjoyed with the surprise treatments as they whisked her away. When she returned from the Spa, I had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for her on a plate. The message on the plate said ‘Happy Birthday,’ which I hoped would keep her from guessing that I was planning to ask her to marry me. Later that evening, we dressed and were leaving for dinner. When Raven grabbed her purse, I turned to her and told her ‘Something is missing.’ She had a confused look on her face and I responded by getting on one knee and saying ‘You being my wife…’
After she began to scream and smile, she happily accepted my proposal and the rest is history.”
